John S. Paulson, MA, LMHC, LCAC, LPC, ACRPS, CRADC, CADAC II /ADC, ICADC
Mr. John S. Paulson has been working in the Addictions field since early 1991. He has been involved with numerous levels and treatment modalities of those requiring substance abuse treatment. Addiction services have been provided in the following levels of care: military based programs, hospital based programs, prison based programs, jail based programs, community outreach and prevention programs and most recently community based mental health.
Mr. Paulson is an Advanced Certified Relapse Prevention Specialist (ACRPS, 1996) who has mastered the practical applications of the Gorski-CENAPS model. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupation Education, with emphasis in Human Services. Mr. Paulson holds a Master degree in Community Counseling. He is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor level II in the state of Indiana and Illinois. The International Alcohol and Drug abuse counselor certification is also held. Mr. Paulson has previously served on the board of ethics for the Substance Abuse Certifying Authority for the state of Iowa.
Mr. Paulson is employed by Hamilton Center, Inc., the third largest Community based Mental Health facility in the state of Indiana. Duties with Hamilton Center, Inc. include the following: Delivery of services for the Relapse Prevention Groups at the largest Addictions office within Hamilton Center, Inc., oversees and develops substance abuse treatment program activities, is directly involved with the training of new staff members, and the training of new substance abuse counselors.
Mr. Paulson is recognized as an effective lecturer and trainer who can educate and prepare his audience to use the information presented. Mr. Paulson is certified by Terence T. Gorski to teach the various Relapse Prevention Therapy and Counseling Skills.
