"I
have been an employee with HCI for about 4 1/2 years. HCI has been
very rewarding for me. I have learned a lot about mental illness
and experienced some wonderful, challenging work. I love the work
atmosphere and the hours are great. I have met a lot of friends
and established a wonderful working relationship that will last
forever." |
| "I
started working for Hamilton Center while I was a Junior in college.
I needed some experience in my field of study and a Psychiatric
Technician on the Inpatient Unit was a perfect match. Hamilton Center
was flexible with my school schedule and the pay was pretty good.
I got the experience that I needed while developing career skills
that would help me in the future. Because of this experience I was
able to transfer into a degreed position after I received my Bachelor's
degree. Hamilton Center has helped me to become the person that
I am today. If they hadn't given my that first opportunity, I am
not sure that I would have made it this far in my career. The people
here are always very friendly and fun to work with. Hamilton Center
is devoted to it's cause with helping mentally ill adults and children
in the community and the surrounding counties. I am glad that I
am part of a team that is consistently looking for new ways to improve
our services. I think that Hamilton Center has a lot to offer our
community in terms of the services that we provide as well as many
employment opportunities." |

"I
couldn't ask for a better place to work! My environment is extremely
supportive and pleasant. Not only do I love my job, I trust my co-workers

"Since
beginning work at Hamilton Center, Inc., I have met many wonderful
people. Not only staff members, but clients as well. HCI also
is helping me continue my education at Indiana State University,
offering monetary support. I had not been in school in over thirty
years, but many coworkers encouraged me to 'go for it.' I did
and I love it. The benefits at HCI are great. Insurance, paid
time off and holiday pay are provided. There is also a 403(b)
fund available if I so desire. I like working at HCI.

"I
have decided to retire, but I am neither 'burned out' nor 'worn
out'; it's simply time to do different things. I have been at Hamilton
Center for over 24 years because I have loved working with my clients,
enjoyed my coworkers and felt supports by my supervisors. My job
has remained interesting and challenging, partly because it has
always been evolving. I am grateful to have worked so long in a
position I like at an agency I respect." |
| "I
enjoy working with Hamilton Center because as a not-for-profit organization,
it is reassuring to know that any profits will be reinvested in
the business, creating opportunities for all of us. Staff development
and recognition appear to be high priorities. The work itself is
rewardingthere is plenty of task variety serving a diverse
population. At our center the atmosphere is collegialnot a
top down management style." |

"I
came to Hamilton Center, Inc. after working for a for profit mental
health provider because of HCI's emphasis on treatment of all
people rather than the escalating focus on profit of the agency.
Although there have been ups and downs, there are several reasons
why I have remained here:
- HCI
has some quality employees and I really enjoy working with them.
- We
serve such a diversity of clients that I regularly am challenged
to be the best clinician I can beI never get bored.
- I get
a lot of vacation time and flexibility for relaxing, consulting,
or whatever I choose.
- I feel
appreciated by the people I work with.
- I believe
in our mission of working with all people regardless of circumstances
or resourcesI am proud of the work our agency does.
- I work
with people with the highest ethical standards.
Hamilton
Center, Inc. has been a good place for me to work."

| "In
1972 I was a client at Hamilton Center after an overdose/suicide
attempt. Within the week, I began using drugs on the unit, was escorted
out, and told not to return. Released from jail in 1987, still facing
60 years for drug charged, I began an addictions residential program
at HCI. Shortly thereafter I was given the opportunity to volunteer
on the Detox Unit. I put in about 50 hours per week for the next
six months. I then finished a six year sentence for drug charges.
Within a week of my return I was given a job as a Detox Technician
and was encouraged to become a certified Addictions Counselor. It
took me 1 year and HCI made me a Counselor and eventually a Supervisor.
I have a twelve year career with HCI and I am a loyal and dedicated
employee. I believe in my work and I truly appreciate HCI providing
me the vehicle to help others. HCI has sent me to school for a Bachelors
as well as a Masters degree. Imagine a three time convicted drug
dealer and habitual criminal, and the life that I have today. Tell
me that HCI doesn't practice what we preach." |
